BAADER in North America is a member of the worldwide BAADER Group. The BAADER Group was founded in 1919 by Rudolph M. J. Baader in Lübeck, Germany. Mr. Baader started the company with mechanizing his inventions for the processing of fish. Since that time, the BAADER Group has grown into a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality processing equipment and systems for the food industry. The company is now led by Consul Petra Baader and has over 700 employees worldwide.

BAADER in North America was initially established by the BAADER Group in 1980 to service the fish and general food markets. In 1997, BAADER purchased Johnson Food Equipment, a company with over 50 years experience in the poultry processing industry. With this acquisition, BAADER in North America became a full-line supplier of fish, general food and poultry processing equipment. BAADER is headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas with its poultry processing equipment manufactured and marketed out of Kansas City under the marketing name of BAADER-JOHNSON. BAADER's fish and general food products are primarily manufactured in Lübeck, Germany. BAADER in North America also has sales offices in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada; Auburn, Washington, USA and Indianola, Mississippi, USA.
