Ocean Conservancy, an organization long respected for its work in fisheries policy, has launched its “Campaign for Sustainable Seafood” in the Gulf of Mexico. This major effort aims to return these storied fisheries to health by aligning sustainability incentives with fishery management reform to ensure long-term sustainability of the fish. Our goal is to see the Gulf's depleted signature fish - red snapper, gag grouper, and greater amberjack - become the highlight of America's sustainable seafood movement, in markets and on menus, so we never again have to choose between a sustainable fish and our favorite fish.
