Soft crabs are blue crabs (Callinectus sapidus) that have shed their hard outer shell. More than 100 years ago, the watermen of historic Crisfield, Maryland introduced these crabs to the seafood industry. Handy International, the nation's oldest and largest soft crab processor, offers this unique delicacy fresh May through September and frozen year round.

All our crab cakes are handmade by Handy in Asia and are offered in several recipes including the traditional Maryland-Style. Handy quality-control personnel, using the same quality standards and processing technologies we use at home, continuously supervise our production.

Handy Chef's Master Crab Blend gives you the ultimate flexibility to add personal flavor to signature crab cakes, appetizers and entrees simply by adding spices and seasonings or by using it as a base for other recipes. You can simply use the mix as is to make crab cakes of all sizes or as a stuffing for mushrooms, fish, chicken breasts and more.
