Mexican Shrimp is a high quality, high protein, shellfish produced on the West Coast of Mexico.

The production of Selecta Mexican shrimp is both Wild and Farmed.

The Wild shrimp is fished by boats that leave from Guaymas, Sonora.

The Farmed shrimp is raised in shrimp farms on the coast of Sonora, Mexico.

The shrimp is freshly frozen and then packed in Selecta's HACCP certified plant in Guaymas. Quality control is a key component of Selecta Mexican Shrimp. Selecta Mexican Shrimp is known as, "The Best Shrimp in the World."

About Calamari:

Calamari meat is firm, yet tender. Cooked squid (Calamari) is mild and has a subtle sweetness. White raw squid meat indicates high quality. When handled and processed correctly, raw squid should carry a slight sea-borne aroma. The steaks are cleansed completely from their membrane.

Squid is a popular seafood item and is broadly used. There are many different presentations including; Fresh, whole–frozen, cleaned-frozen, frozen tubes, frozen rings, frozen IQF steaks, strips and tentacles. Value-added squid products include breaded and un-breaded strips, stuffed, canned, dried and smoked.

While fried calamari generally appears as an appetizer, many chefs are exploring culinary preparations with calamari steaks. As an entree, Calamari can be served grilled, sautéed, or breaded, with a variety of spices, herbs and sauces. Calamari's light mild flavor can make a perfect main entrée or hors d’oeuvre.

Squid or calamari is an affordable option for the health conscious consumer. It is low in calories, contains no saturated fat and is 80 percent natural protein. When squid is correctly frozen, it will maintain all its nutrients. More specifically, the faster this process is done, the higher the quality of the meat.
