January 09, 2008 - Reports: B.C. salmon farms in compliance Seafood Business Jan 9, 2008 SFB Staff - The British Columbia government yesterday released a pair of reports showing that, in 2006, fish farms were within provincial regulations and that sea-lice infestation levels were, on average, below accepted levels. Agriculture Minister Pat Bell told reporters at a press briefing in Victoria, British Columbia, that the province's aquaculture industry is subject to ''the toughest standards in the world.'' On average, the salmon farms were rated at a 99.7 percent compliance rate for provincial regulations. The reports were based on 108 farm audits. ...
