Speaking recently at a seminar in London organized by the Westminster Food & Nutrition Forum, Jon Walker from UK charity Sustain shares his experience in striving to establish London as the world's first sustainable fish city, and how the Olympic games was the ideal springboard to propel the issue to foodservice and public procurement players. reported this week that UK-based seafood supplier Simsons Fisheries has gained Marine Stewardship Council certification to supply certified sustainable seafood to numerous UK foodservice clients. “We chose to get MSC certification as — following the London 2012 Olympics — we wanted to offer certified sustainable fish to a wide range of our customers.”
