Catalano Seafoods of Perth, Australia, has appointed Bob Fleming as its CEO, the first time that the family-owned company has brought in a senior official from outside of the company.
Fleming has 15 years of seafood management and board experience in Europe and Africa. He has worked at the Seafood Cooperative Research Center in Adelaide, Australia, and as a managing consultant to seafood processing companies across the country.
Fleming’s roll at Catalano Seafoods is to focus on new opportunities across all customer sectors, specifically to maximize seafood-eating occasions and grow the Catalano brand within Western Australia and nationally.
“Bob has worked with the Catalano family for a number of months now, the net result of which is a comprehensive and ambitious forward plan to take the business to a new level in terms of customer experience, product range and associated brand value,” said Nick Catalano, managing director of Catalano Seafoods. “As a team we are all re-energized to regain our proud reputation for being first in class in seafood retailing in Australia. Bob, together with the younger members of the Catalano family, will lead the next evolution of the Catalano story.”
