The Innovative Food and Biotechnology Group assists the  Vietnamese American Commercial Fishermen Union and ancillary businesses to supply wild-caught, certified, Gulf of Mexico shrimp and prepared seafood products to global markets. Our Coop members’ harvests account for 20% of the total shrimp harvest in the United States. The Company’s mission is to supply premium quality and safety-assured shrimp and to produce chitosan from shrimp shells using environmentally-friendly processes. The Company’s operations are divided into food and biotechnology divisions:  The food division processes and supplies wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico under the Shrimper’s Pride Brand. The New Orleans Shrimp House Brand and Sakura Brand offer prepared seafood products and ready- to-eat meals for retail sales. The Company also offers custom shrimp packing according to the needs of food services and retailers. The Biotechnology division supplies high quality chitosan for food additive, industrial, and neutraceutical applications. Research projects are ongoing to develop products from the dyes, minerals, proteins and fats extracted from shrimp wastes.
