Akva expands into China

Norwegian aquaculture technology firm Akva group has signed a deal to deliver a NOK 23.4 million (USD million, EUR million) delivery of a complete cage farm to a customer in China, a first for Akva, the company said in a release.

Akva will deliver the farm to DunAn Longyangxia in a hydro dam reservoir near Xining in central China. The farm will produce rainbow trout for DunAn, according to Akva.

The sale marks the first of its kind for Akva, according to COO of export Trond Severinsen.

"We have worked hard to secure this contract for several years and are of course honored that DunAn finally chose us as their aquaculture technology partner for this first large scale farming project," he said.
