Biomin to open new aquaculture research center in Vietnam

Austrian animal nutrition company Biomin is opening a new center in Vietnam for aquaculture research, according to the company.

The 900 square-meter facility is expected to open in early 2015 at Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City.

The facility will study new feed formulae, along with infectious diseases and other subjects that directly affect aquaculture development. The work will focus on major regional species such as catfish, tilapia, sea bass and shrimp.

Biomin will also be taking over and expanding facilities of the existing aqua research center at Nong Lam University. Biomin will conduct the work along with students at the University, and partner with Sanphar, a veterinary products and services company under the Erber Group umbrella, to do the work.
