Nutreco appoints new Asia managing director

Dutch fish feed company Nutreco has appointed Samson Li as the company’s new managing director for its Asia business unit.

Li will be based in Hong Kong and manage Nutreco’s premix and fish feed plants in China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan. In all, the plants produced approximately EUR 300 million (USD 387.6 million) in 2013.

"Nutreco is a leading player in the global animal and fish feed business and very much an R&D driven company," Li said. "I look forward to taking Nutreco's ambitions in Asia to the next level."

Li holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a minor in economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Previously he has worked for Novus International, an animal health and nutrition company, where he held various management positions since 2001. Li will succeed Hugues Le Ruz, who has been appointed as managing director for Nutreco's Americas business.

"I'm very happy that Samson Li will join Nutreco,” said Nutreco CEO Knut Nesse. “He brings with him a wealth of experience, not only in our industry, but also generally in doing business in Asia. I'm confident his leadership will help us to accelerate our business growth in Asia."

Li starts with Nuteco on15 September.
