Local success story Petuna Seafoods has cemented its place as a world-class aquaculture facility after recently gaining accreditation for its practices.
Tasmania-based Petuna Seafoods, which began as a small family business venture in Devonport by Peter and Una Rockliff recently achieved Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, a standard that only the world's most sustainable salmon and ocean trout farms can attain.
BAP certification is an international certification program based on achievable, science-based and continuously improved performance standards developed by the Global Aquaculture Alliance for the entire aquaculture supply chain, including farms, hatcheries, processing plants and feed mills.
