The first annual audit of the Alaska black cod/sablefish fishery under the FAO-based Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) certification developed with Global Trust is complete, according to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
The fishery was originally certified on 11 October 2011. The objective of the audit is to monitor any changes since the previous assessment in 2011.
10th and M Seafoods was the most recent company to earn RFM certification, joining Triad Fisheries Ltd, Glacier Fish Co., LLC, Seafood Producers Cooperative, Icicle Seafoods, Inc., Ocean Beauty Seafoods, LLC, Canadian Fishing Co., Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc. and Kwik'Pak Fisheries LLC.
