Shaw's Crab House, with restaurants in Chicago and Schaumburg, Ill., announced yesterday that its customers can now mail order Alaska red king crab from the Bering Sea.
The crab legs are packaged in a thermal cooler and include a brochure with handling and cooking instructions, cooking tongs, bibs and napkins.
Shaw's ships the orders in 5-pound increments: 5 pounds for $115, which serves 4 people; 10 pounds for $215; and 20 pounds for $420, plus tax and shipping. Orders can be placed online at www.shawscrabhouse.com or by calling (877) 942-2722.
In operation for more than two decades, Shaw's is owned by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises of Chicago. A take on a 1940s supper club, the upscale-casual seafood restaurant also features The Oyster Bar.
