CORRECTED: FDA finds “significant violations” at Hawaiian seafood wholesaler

CORRECTION: A December 20 SeafoodSource article incorrectly reported a U.S. Food and Drug Administration warning letter was recently given to Honolulu Fish Co.

The warning letter was actually sent in 2006. The company addressed all issues of concern raised by the FDA and was issued a clearance letter in 2014.

FDA spokesperson George Decker confirmed that there is no ongoing FDA investigation or open warning issued to Honolulu Fish Co. and Kanoho Koko, the company's national sourcing and procurement director, also confirmed the company has no ongoing issues with the FDA.
