NFI shares salmon recipes for a healthy heart

In honor of American Heart Month, celebrated in February, the National Fisheries Institute’s Salmon Council launched an online initiative detailing the heart health benefits associated with eating salmon.

For the campaign, the council partnered with online blogging influencers such as The Recipe Critic and Natasha’s Kitchen to share pertinent salmon recipes that are easy and quick to prepare for either lunch or dinner. The featured recipes for American Heart Month include: Sheet-Pan Thai-Glazed Salmon with Vegetables, by The Recipe Critic; and One-Pan Salmon and Asparagus with Garlic Herb Butter, by Natasha’s Kitchen.

“Doctors and nutritionists point to salmon as a heart-healthy food,” NFI Senior Vice President Judy Dashiell said. “During American Heart Month, the Salmon Council amplified this message by partnering with influential bloggers. Stay tuned for exciting programs the council is implementing this year to spotlight the importance of eating salmon, whether cooking at home or dining out at restaurants.”

As of 27 February, the council and the bloggers have recorded 750,000 impressions associated with the initiative.
