Another exclusive deal for Skuna Bay

Skuna Bay Salmon has announced it is the exclusive salmon supplier at this year’s U.S. Open.

The Vancouver Island craft-raised salmon will be served to guests at the professional tennis tournament on 27 August through 9 September in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Skuna Bay’s salmon will be incorporated into the private catering menu for players, staff, VIPs and sponsors. In addition, the tournament will offer the salmon through concessions and other food outlets.

“Since Skuna Bay Salmon has launched in New York City, we have established key partnerships with organizations like the James Beard Foundation, and now the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament,” said Dave Mergle, Skuna Bay director. “Chefs and consumers have responded very well to the consistent quality of our salmon. We are thrilled to have a world famous venue to introduce Skuna Bay Salmon to tennis fans from around the country.”

“The U.S. Open tennis tournament is synonymous with ‘best in class’ and therefore we only select the highest quality food to go with the world’s greatest tennis experience. Skuna Bay provides consistently high standards for great salmon and after visiting the farms personally and observing how their salmon are craft-raised with every detail considered before being sent to us in New York, I can see why they are able to achieve such consistently great quality. We are proud to be serving Skuna Bay Salmon at this year’s US Open,” said Ed Brown, consultant to the USTA on the U.S. Open’s menus.

Skuna Bay salmon has launched distribution partnerships in the Southwest, West, Midwest, Northeast and Great Lakes regions in the United States and can now be found at more than 400 high-end restaurants across 19 states.
