Birds Eye unveils limited edition Queen’s birthday fish fingers

U.K. frozen food brand Birds Eye is launching limited edition fish fingers in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s official 90th birthday.

Birds Eye’s Cod Save The Queen fish fingers will be available from 6 June, in the lead-up to the celebrations taking place on 12 June. They will be sold at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons with a RSP of GBP 2.49 (USD 3.64, EUR 3.27) for a pack of 12.

The limited edition packaging features Union Jack bunting in the background and the recently rebooted Captain Birdseye with the message, “Happy 90th Birthday Ma’am”.

“Last year, we marked the 60th anniversary of our fish fingers, which was a momentous occasion for the brand,” said Steve Chantry, Birds Eye marketing director. “This year, we want to help Brits celebrate a milestone for another of the country’s much-loved icons, and hope our Cod Save The Queen packs provide Brits with a bit of fun in the lead-up to the big day.

“So from one national treasure to another, we hope Her Majesty is able to enjoy her own fish finger sandwich as she marks her big day.”
