Branded, ready-to-cook seabream launched into Greek retail by Selonda

Greek seabream and seabass producer Selonda has launched fresh, ready-to-cook seabream into all stores in the My Market supermarket chain, which has 220 locations throughout Greece.

The new retail product utilizes updated packaging designed to optimize the freshness and nutritional value of the fish. In addition to preventing leakage when transported or stored, the packaging is also designed to fit easily within refrigerator shelving systems, the company said.

Furthermore, as the seabream is already cleaned and pre-weighed in the tray, consumers only pay for the net weight of the product, without being charged for the by-product and without having to wait at the point-of-sale for the fish to be cleaned.

The launch is being supported by a radio advertising campaign.

Founded in 1981, Selonda has an annual production volume of 32,000 metric tons (MT) and a total production capacity of 40,000 MT (both species combined).

Its total annual turnover for 2016 is expected to reach EUR 160 million (USD 175.6 million).
