Godfred Medicine, Chairman of the US Group of Companies has acknowledged that the production of Tilapia, a well known source of fish protein in the country, needs to be scaled up.
Speaking at the inauguration of a US Tilapia Retail outlet in Tema, Mr Medicine said, "We are only meeting 42 percent of the demand for tilapia in the country,"
He said the US Group of Companies had observed the growing demand for tilapia in the country over the years, and noted that, as a common source of protein, tilapia had to be affordable to the average person.
