Copeinca profits plummet

Copeinca EBITDA as of 30 September was USD 46.4 million (EUR 34.5 million), down from USD 96 million (EUR 71.4 million) during the same time period last year. Revenues also plummeted almost 50 percent to USD 156.6 million (EUR 116.4 million) compared to USD 264.9 million (EUR 197 million) last year.

For the third quarter of the year, however, revenues were up slightly to USD 101.9 million (EUR 75.7 million) compared to USD 96.8 million (EUR 72 million) in the third quarter of last year. EBITDA was USD 34.7 million (EUR 25.8 million), down from USD 37.4 million (28 million) in 2012.

The company said 100 percent if it’s quota was caught for the first fishing season, which ended 31 July, despite operational challenges.

Revenue per ton sold for the first nine months of the year had an average of USD 1,728 (EUR 1,284) per metric ton (MT), including USD 4.3 million (EUR 3.2 million) revenues from mackerel and jack mackerel. For the third quarter, revenue per ton was USD 1,599 (EUR 1,188) per MT, up from USD 1,582 (EUR 1,176) MT in the third quarter of 2012.
