Fishery regulators are looking to increase the allocation for another groundfish stock as they try to lessen the effects of huge, coming cuts in catch limits.
The New England Fishery Management Council said Wednesday that new information indicates they can recommend a 13 percent increase in the white hake quota.
That’s roughly an extra million pounds. It’s unknown how much revenue that could mean. In 2011, the most recent year prices were available, white hake averaged $1.26 a pound.
