Leroy one step closer to officially acquiring Havfisk and Norway Seafoods

Norway’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries has approved the Leroy Seafood Group’s acquisition of shares in Havfisk ASA and Norway Seafoods Group AS. Leroy is still awaiting approval from the relevant competition authorities before completing the transactions.

A completion of the sale of Havfisk will trigger a mandatory offer for the remaining shares at NOK 36.50 (USD 4.44, EUR 3.94) per share. Assuming completion of the transaction, Leroy also intends to make an offer for the remaining shares in Norway Seafoods at NOK 1 (USD 0.12, EUR 0.11) per share.

On 2 June 2016, Leroy made agreements with Aker Capital AS and Aker Capital II AS to buy Aker’s 63.21 percent ownership in Havfisk and its 73.63 percent ownership stake in Norway Seafoods.

Havfisk is Norway’s largest trawler company with 10 vessels and 29.6 cod trawling licenses, while Oslo-based Norway Seafoods is one of Europe’s leading whitefish suppliers
