Skuna Bay appoints salmon specialist

Skuna Bay Salmon has appointed Melissa Carrasquillo as its Southwest regional salmon specialist.

Carrasquillo comes to to Skuna Bay, which produces “craft-raised” salmon in British Columbia, from the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif., where she served as program director for the Seafood for the Future program, which Skuna Bay recently partnered with.

Carrasquillo will work closely with chefs and other potential partners to build awareness and interest in the company’s premium salmon.

“As I learned more about Skuna Bay Salmon and got to know the craftsmen farmers, I became more impressed with their passion for raising the best salmon possible and commitment to ethically and environmentally sound aquaculture practices,” said Carrasquillo. “Their goals align with my own so I decided to join the Skuna Bay team.”
