Vietnam's seafood export revenue is expected to hit USD 6.73 billion (EUR 4.8 billion) in 2013, up 10.6 percent year-on-year, said Vietnam's General Statistics Office on Monday.
In December alone, the country earned USD 650 million (EUR 470.2 million) from selling seafood to overseas markets, presenting an increase of 32.06 percent year-on-year, according to the office.
Statistics by Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) showed that in 2013, the country's seafood was sold to 156 countries and regions. VASEP added that major export markets of Vietnamese seafood include the United States, European Union and Japan, accounting for 85 percent of the country's seafood export turnover.
