19 March, 2012 - Tradex Foods has appointed Mariel Vina as its South America seafood purchaser.

Vina is based out of Uruguay and will be responsible for sourcing South American-caught fish, according to the Victoria, British Columbia, company. She brings extensive industry experience and South America market knowledge to the Tradex team.

South America is a major seafood-producing region, and by having a purchaser on the ground in Uruguay, Tradex gains access to a wider variety of species, said the company.
