12 April, 2012 - King & Prince Seafood has earned British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification under the Global Standard for Food Safety.

The seaood supplier’s facility in Brunswick, Ga., has been awarded certification with a grade of “A,” the highest available.

BRC audits are based on seven sub-categories — senior management commitment, food safety plan (HACCP), food safety and quality management system, site standards, product control, process control and personnel.

“Devotion to quality has always been the foundation of our business,” said Gene Laurendeau, BRC coordinator for King & Prince. “Today, when foodservice operators all over the world are responding to their customers’ demands for quality and safety, this recognition sends a strong message about our dedication to their needs, and our ability to help them succeed with seafood.”
