13 August, 2012 - Icicle Seafoods Inc. has reached agreement with federal officials over violations of the Clean Water Act related to use of the refrigerant R-22, and agreed to pay a penalty of USD 430,000, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said 10 August .

The company also agreed to repair the leaks in vessels and facilities.

In an announcement from Seattle, the EPA said the issue was related to leaks of the ozone-depleting refrigerant R-22 aboard Icicle’s seafood vessels and in processing facilities.
