25 September, 2012 - Seafish has appointed Graham Young as the head of regional delivery, Scotland.

Young will act as head of Seafood Scotland, leading the operational work of the organization in collaboration with its board. He will be responsible for overseeing regional delivery for Seafish in Scotland as part of its role as a UK-wide authority.

Young has a background in the seafood industry, including experience as a factory manager for Pinneys and Spinks and managing director of ScotTrout aquaculture operations. He also served a four-year term with the Scottish Enterprise Network, where he provided expertise in funding mechanisms, developed strategic plans, innovated food and health plans and brought awareness of the political sensitivities of dealing with public, private and NGO labels.

Most recently, Young worked with Matrix, overseeing business development and new product concept projects.

Young will start his new role with Seafood Scotland on 1 November.

“Regional delivery is an important part of Seafish’s work to educate and inform people about the industry and the benefits of eating seafood,” said Paul Williams, Seafish CEO. “Through working with the sectors of the Scottish seafood industry we believe he can help support them in meeting this challenge, ensuring a sustainable and profitable future for both the industry and the environment in which it works.”
