Alaska salmon season opens

18 October, 2012 - For the week of 8 October to 14 October, prices of fresh salmon exports from Norway were up 9.8 percent to NOK 26.67 per kilo compared to the previous seven days.

According to data from Statistics Norway, fresh salmon exports totaled 17,499 metric tons (MT) for the week, up 1.1 percent from 1 October to 7 October.

Exports of frozen salmon were down from the previous week to NOK 28.09 compared to NOK 28.41. Volume was also down to 898 MT compared to 1,461 MT.
