Japan, EU buying more Vietnamese shrimp but total exports fall

Vietnam’s shrimp export trade has failed to maintain the strong growth trend that it enjoyed last year, with total sales in January falling by almost 13 percent year-on-year to USD 198.7 million (EUR 184.9 million).

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) attributed the decline to technical barriers from importing markets, lower demand from major markets and a limited supply of raw material for processing.
