North Sea haddock remains on the menu despite sustainability downgrade

The Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF) has demanded that the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) retracts “misleading comments” about the sustainability of North Sea and west of Scotland haddock stocks.

The latest seafood ratings on the charity’s Good Fish Guide have seen three haddock fisheries in the North Sea and west of Scotland area downgraded due to a change in scientific advice, meaning the fish is no longer on its recommended green list of fish to eat.
