Young’s rolls out Fish in Sauce products aimed at the healthcare sector

Young’s Foodservice is launching two Fish in Sauce products developed specifically for the care and healthcare sectors in the United Kingdom.

The two quick-to-cook meals – Pollock in Parsley Sauce and Cod in Butter Sauce – are made with 100 percent fish fillet.

“We’re continuing to develop products to meet the needs of the care and healthcare sectors,” said Adrian Greaves, foodservice director at Young’s Foodservice, in a press release. “We understand that one in three patients admitted to acute care can be malnourished … So, it’s our priority to show just how quick, nutritious and versatile our Fish in Sauce products can be.”

The Pollock in Parsley Sauce is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, Young’s said, and both Fish in Sauce products are high in protein, which makes them an ideal meal solution for residents and patients alike. Moreover, the soft texture of the fish can be quickly mashed with a fork “to provide an easy eating experience,” Young’s said.

Microwaved in under five minutes or boiled in the bag, the meals are ideal for patient feeding as they hold their temperature in the bag for a long period of time.
