1_Fish.pngAcadia Harvest, Maine (Land-Based Aquaculture) – After its formation in 2011, this Maine-based aquaculture company set out to enhance the recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) employed within its land-based fish farm by way of new technologies. The company works mainly with California yellowtail (Seriola lalandi) as well as black sea bass (Centropristis striata). This year, Acadia Harvest Inc. has been focused on selling premium seafood grown in its “low to zero waste” facility.

 

 


3_Fish.pngENTOFOOD, Malaysia (Fish Feed)
– ENTOFOOD is bringing a “sustainable alternative to fishmeal” to the industry with its insect-based products. The company has tested its solutions on a variety of fish species as well as livestock species; the majority of the insect meal and oil developed by ENTOFOOD comes from processed hermetia illucens larvae.
