Diversified Communications, the organizer of Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America, is conducting a survey to determine its customers’ preferences for when the postponed event should take place.
Originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 17 March, the event was postponed on 3 March due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The poll, sent to expo exhibitors and those identified as high-volume retail and foodservice buyers, has two options for alternate dates: Sunday, 31 May to Tuesday, 2 June, or Tuesday and Wednesday, 22 and 23 September.
For the first choice, the event “would be in typical format and have space available for full-size exhibits,” according to the poll. Move-in for the expo would take place 26 to 30 May, and move-out would occur 3 and 4 June.
For the second alternative, the event “would be smaller and shorter format due to availability,” according to the poll. It would be a “new concept with potentially smaller booth space due to more limited space options,” as only halls B and C are available at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Hall A – the area closest to the north lobby escalators – is not available on those dates, meaning the show’s floorplan would have to be redrawn. Additionally, “very few” meeting rooms would be available during the September dates, according to Diversified.
The poll also offers two other options to respondents
- Option 3: Either of these options work for us as long as valuable buyers will be there.
- Option 4: Neither of these options work for me/us; understanding these are the two options to choose from, we would not be able to exhibit/attend in 2020.
The survey also includes an additional space providing the opportunity for respondents to offer additional feedback to Diversified.
The poll closes at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on 11 March, according to Diversified.
