Considered by my many to be the largest seafood company in the world, Maruha Nichiro Corp. is comprised of numerous global operations, including a sizeable outfit in North America. Based in Tokyo, Japan, the company has a long history in Alaska fisheries, having purchased many regional subsidiaries including Westward Seafoods, Alyeska Seafoods, Premier Pacific Seafoods, and Peter Pan Seafoods, all based in Seattle, Washington, as well as Trans Ocean Products in Bellingham, Washington.
