The Business of Sustainable Seafood: Maximizing Industry’s Return on Investment | Product

$30.00

The seafood industry has made significant investments to improve the sustainability of its product and supply chains and the industry has seen a return on this investment in reduced risk, increased assured supply, and a more responsible, competitive product in global protein markets. There are now a number of mechanisms – certification, FIPs, social audits, buyer commitments, pre-competitive collaborations, and academic, governmental, and NGO guidance -- to support seafood companies’ sustainability work. If we look at these collective efforts in seafood as a single entity, what does that “system” look like? Seafood2030 will discuss what we are learning from seafood stakeholders and the industry, innovation adoption theory, and transformation efforts in other sectors about: the challenges for the next decade for the system, the programs and emerging models developing to address these challenges, why seafood companies already have experience in addressing these future challenges, and is the “system” operating efficiently?
