Marz Seafood (est.2003) is an Icelandic, family-owned seafood company of three generations, with a head office in Stykkishólmur, Iceland, and a branch office in Aalborg, Denmark. We are women only, who share a connection to Nordic fishing culture. Seafood from the waters in and around Iceland is the cornerstone of our global exporting business. Through our strong ownership ties, we are an integrated partner with both vessels and production plants, making us an excellent choise as a versatile seafood supplier.

Atlantic catfish are found all around Iceland, typically around the West Fjords. They live in the sandy bottoms of the water 40-200 metres deep and have very strong teeth and jaws in order to crush and eat shellfish and echinoderms like starfish and sea urchins. Atlantic cod dominate the waters around Iceland and are the most important fish in the Icelandic diet and economy. Mackerel are streamlined and fast swimming fish. They grow rapidly as well, doubling in size between infancy and the age of two or three. The average size for adults is between 35 and 45 cm long. The stock that is caught in Icelandic waters comes by way of the North Sea. Farmed Arctic Salmon from Iceland is one of the best, and as close to wild Atlantic salmon as can be. The Salmon is farmed at low density in pollution free waters, chemical free, meaning no medicines or delouse chemical agents. There are very strict standards in terms of feed content and the feed is GMO free. After harvesting of each generation, each farming zone is allowed to rest and clear naturally. The farming was the first one in Europe to get Best Aquaculture Practices certification, which focuses primarily on sustainability and traceability. They are also in process of getting aquaculture Stewardship Council certification, ASC.


The golden redfish is one of the most common redfish found in Icelandic waters and one of the most commercially important as well. Haddock is a large codfish closely related to the saithe fish. Haddock grow very fast in their first two years and then maintain an average size of about 50-65 cm long. Icelandic scallops can be found all around Iceland but are primarily take from the western and northwestern fjords region. Specification: • roe on → 20/30, 30/40, 40/60 pc pr lbs → IQF • roe off → 30/40, 40/60, 60/80 → pc pr lbs → IQF


Lumpfish are thick and somewhat ball-shaped. Females reach about 40 cm long and males are usually a bit smaller than that. They are found all around the waters of Iceland but in highest concentrations in the colder waters in the north and east of the country. Lumpfish caviar is made from the roe of the lumpfish. Lumpfish are found in the North Atlantic and lumpfish caviar typically comes from Iceland. The largest recorded female lumpfish was found in Icelandic waters, weighing in at 9.6 kg and bearing 4 kg of roe. Specification: • Jar size: 50gr, 100gr, 340gr, 500gr


Saithe is a slightly larger codfish than the haddock, usually between 70 and 110 cm long. Saithe are mainly caught off of the south and southwest coasts of Iceland.
