Hyung-Chae Jun, the president of Lucky Union Foods’ European operations and managing director of its plant in Poland, has passed away, according to a 1 May announcement.

A surimi seafood business veteran, Jun had steered Lucky Union’s factory in Poland since 2016, “adding greatly to the success of Lucky Union Foods as a surimi seafood powerhouse,” the company said.

“Our thoughts are with his wife, daughters, and his family, and all the people that have known Mr. Jun as the enthusiastic and sympathetic president of Lucky Union Foods Europe,” the firm said.

In the wake of Jun’s passing, Piotr Starosta, Lucky Union’s engineering and project director, who joined the company at its inception, has assumed the role of acting president of its European presence.
