Seafood companies have become an important source of sustainability innovation to address challenges on the water and in the supply chain. Not only does this industry innovation compliment sustainability innovation developed by NGOs, but innovation developed by industry is also more likely to fit with the realities of running a seafood business. These industry designed innovations are often non-proprietary and open-source, but are rarely shared or promoted because companies are focused on fixing their own problems. Seafood2030 is providing a platform to share these essential elements of a more sustainable seafood industry.
