Description:

U.S. President Trump’s executive order on seafood issued in May establishes it as U.S. policy that aquaculture is vital for supporting sustainable seafood production and is key to advancing the expansion of U.S. competitiveness and economic growth in the seafood marketplace. In addition to provisions addressing commercial fishing and international trade, the executive order calls for federal partners to increase permitting efficiencies, improve regulatory transparency, and establish aquaculture opportunity areas to diminish barriers of entry for finfish, shellfish, and seaweed farming. Join a panel of representatives from federal agencies for a discussion of how they are working together to meet the provisions of the executive order, followed by an audience Q&A.
