Madelyn Kearns is the Portland, Maine-based editor of SeafoodSource. Before diving into seafood writing, editing, and infographic-designing, she was the associate editor for an online publication geared toward small to mid-sized practice physicians, Medical Practice Insider. Maddie is a graduate of the University of Maine, where she served as a columnist and the opinion editor for the university's paper, The Maine Campus, and won a Grady Award in Creative Writing for her poetry.

Milan, Italy-based Friend of the Sea has certified Nutriterra from Nuseed Nutritional as a sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids, the certifier announced on 23 June.

Nutriterra can now bare the Friend of the Sea logo, signifying “its commitment to sustainable production practices.” It is the second product to receive the new plant-based certification from Friend of the Sea, following Nuseed’s Aquaterra.

Jones, who worked for Rich Products for 29 years, retired in 2017. He joined the Buffalo, New York, U.S.A.-based company, which owns SeaPak Shrimp and Seafood Co., in 1988 and worked his way up to become its vice president of seafood procurement, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance.
