A champion shucker’s guide to the world’s best oysters (and where to find them)

Patrick McMurray, owner of the Ceili Cottage, an Irish pub in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has brought oysters and fresh fish to the city for more than 15 years through his restaurants Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill, the Ceili Cottage, and Pearl Diver. McMurray is a world champion oyster shucker, holding the Guinness World Record for the most oysters shucked in one hour (1,114). He is also author of the book “Consider the Oyster – A Shucker’s Field Guide.” Below, he shares his top five oyster eating experiences with SeafoodSource.
