Faroese salmon producer Bakkafrost Group harvested 18,400 metric tons (MT) of gutted weight fish in the second-quarter of this year, up from 13,000 MT in the corresponding period of 2016.
The contribution to the total from the company’s farming operations in the north of the Faroes amounted to 13,600 MT, while its farms in the west supplied 4,800 MT.
Bakkafrost also sold 17,000 MT of feed in the last quarter, up from 16,300 MT in Q2 2016.
