Bonamar partners with California foodservice distributor as part of US expansion strategy

In an effort to establish a bicoastal presence within the United States, Florida-based seafood company Bonamar has forged a new service partnership with California’s International Pacific Seafoods (IPS), an importer, processor and distributor of globally-sourced premium seafood.

The new partnership will see IPS serving as Bonamar’s distribution arm on the U.S. West Coast, delivering primarily to national and regional restaurant chains. A provider of quality, “chef-ready” products, IPS employs a business model that aligns well with Bonamar’s core values and aims, the latter said in a news release.

In addition to its new business partnership, Bonamar has strategically realigned its sales team: Jeana Daily has been appointed as the new vice president of national accounts, Keith Laudieri is the director of sales in the company's western region, and Mark Prater has been brought on as a key member of the western sales team.

“With their combined decades of expertise in the seafood industry, these three key members will complement and complete Bonamar’s talented sales force, creating the ultimate all-star team of sales professionals in the western region,” the company said.

Bonamar is a minority and family-owned business, specializing in the import and distribution of premium crabmeat and finfish, with a focus on value-added seafood products for the retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors. The company, which launched the first nationally marketed line of Extended Safety crab meat products treated by irradiation into the United States, recently strategically allied itself with Shaw’s Southern Belle, a state-of-the-art processing facility, to bring quality seafood to market via safe, innovative means.
