– The Association of Seafood Processors (ASP), a Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada-based group that represents snow crab processors, has elected Kim Quinlan as its chair.
"On the eve of International Women’s Day, we celebrate Kim and all women breaking barriers, leading with strength, and shaping the future of our industry,” ASP Executive Director Jeff Loder said in a 7 March release.
Quinlan is the vice president of marketing at Quinlan Brothers, the largest snow crab processor in Newfoundland and Labrador, and a member and volunteer of the Women Presidents’ Organization, a global group which supports women-led businesses.
The ASP release called Quinlan a “a driving force within ASP, advocating for sustainability, trade, and economic development while protecting the interests of seafood processors across Atlantic Canada.”
Quinlan will replace Paul Grant, of Beothic Fish Processors, in the chair role.
"Grant’s leadership and passion for the industry has been instrumental in advancing the interests of seafood producers, fostering collaboration, and strengthening the industry’s future," ASP said. "His dedication and contributions will have a lasting impact.”
– Tilapia producer Regal Springs has named Eduardo Moreno its new U.S. trade marketing manager.
In his new role, Moreno will work to foster connections to U.S. retail partners.
"Regal Springs is excited to have Eduardo on board as we continue to expand our presence in the U.S. market," Regal Springs Managing Director Todd Raasch said. "His strong background in fast-moving consumer goods will help propel Regal Springs to new heights.”
Moreno said that he was “excited to contribute to Regal Springs’ mission of providing high-quality, responsibly sourced seafood to consumers.”
“I’m looking forward to collaborating with retail partners and industry leaders to drive mutual success in the U.S. market,” he said.
