Land-based tech deal agreed by AKVA subsidiary

Norwegian aquaculture technology provider AKVA Group ASA has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Aquatec Solutions A/S has signed contracts for delivery of land-based equipment to Ænes Inkubator AS.

The deal has a total value of EUR 15.6 million (USD 17.6 million) and deliveries will take place between the first quarters of 2019 and 2021.

Ænes is constructing a new smolt facility in Ænes, Norway. Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of 2019 and the facility will take between two and three years to complete. When finished, the facility is expected to produce 3,000 metric tons of smolt, and its operations will include the production cycle from egg to post-smolt for seeding, according to Kyst.no.
