Longtime Trident Seafoods executive joins Sea Watch International

Dan Murphy, formerly of Trident Seafoods, has joined Sea Watch International, Ltd., as its new chief commercial officer in Easton, Maryland, the company announced on 10 January.

Murphy comes to his new role after spending the past nine years serving as the executive vice president of sales for Trident. Before that, he worked for Icelandic USA for 15 years as its executive vice president of sales.

A familiar face to the owners of Sea Watch, Murphy will oversee the company’s sales, marketing, and research and development divisions from the Easton office.

“The owners of Sea Watch have known Dan for many years and are happy to have him as an executive of the company,” the firm said in a press release announcing Murphy’s hire.

Sea Watch International has been a major supplier of clams in the Chesapeake Bay region for 35 years. Ownership of the company remains intact since 1999, with Barney Truex, Martin Truex Sr., Jim Meyers, and Bob Brennan at the helm.
