The Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (SSPO) is seeking a new chair to replace Gilpin Bradley, managing director of Wester Ross Fisheries, who is vacating the role.
According to a posting from Edinburgh, Scotland-based recruiters FWB Park Brown, the incoming chair will lead a detailed review of the governance of the SSPO board and organization and support the imposition of ongoing structural changes.
While it would be helpful if candidates had experience of aquaculture or a closely-related industry, the SSPO board is also keen to consider “very strong candidates” who may not have an aquaculture background but who will bring exceptional leadership skills.
It said that it is “ideally” looking for candidates with:
- Familiarity with the strategic management of a complex and changing business
- Experience of broadening an organization’s audience and engagement
- The experience, abilities and diplomacy to guide the SSPO through a continuing period of change and renewal
SSPO represents Scotland’s seven salmon farming companies.
