Skretting Managing Director Steven Rafferty steps down

Steven Rafferty, the managing director of Skretting Global Salmon and Fish Feed Southern Europe, has resigned, according to the company.

Based in Stavenger, Norway, Skretting is one of the world’s leading firms in the production of nutritional products for aquaculture, in particular shrimp and fish feed. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nutreco, a Dutch producer of animal nutritional solutions.

“We are very thankful for Steven’s contribution to Nutreco during the nearly two decades he served our company,” Nutreco CEO Knut Nesse said. “During his last tenure, our fish-feed business maintained a strong and consistent performance and growth. We wish him a lot of success going forward.”

Rafferty has also stepped down as a member of the Nutreco Executive Committee. Nutreco has initiated a search for his replacement, the company said, though Rafferty will remain available to Nutreco and Skretting through September, “to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities,” Nutreco said.

Rafferty began his career at Marine Harvest  in 1993. After Marine Harvest was acquired by Nutreco, he continued on, eventually become Marine Harvest’s CFO  in 2015 serving in various positions within the company in Scotland, Chile and the U.S.A. Marine Harvest was sold by Nutreco in 2007, but eventually Rafferty rejoined Nutreco as managing director of Skretting in 2012.
